At Low Cost Veterinary Surgery Clinic of Mesa, we understand that your pet is part of your family. That’s why our mission is simple: to make high-quality veterinary care accessible and affordable for every pet owner in the Mesa area. Our spaying and neutering services are performed by experienced, certified professionals who focus on your pet’s safety, comfort, and long-term health. And with our clinic conveniently located in the heart of Mesa, we proudly serve families throughout the East Valley, including Gilbert, Apache Junction, Tempe, and Chandler.

Mesa’s warm desert climate and active, pet-friendly community also makes it the perfect place for outdoor adventures with your four-legged friends. And whether you’re walking near Red Mountain Park or enjoying an afternoon at Mesa’s dog parks, keeping your pet healthy and well-behaved makes every outing more enjoyable. This is where spaying and neutering come in; it not only support your pet’s health but also help maintain a balanced and responsible pet community across the Valley.

Why Spaying and Neutering Matter

Spaying and neutering are some of the most important steps you can take to improve your pet’s health and quality of life. Spaying (for females) and neutering (for males) prevent unwanted litters, reduce the risk of serious medical conditions, and can even improve behavior.

Female pets who are spayed early avoid the risk of uterine infections and drastically lower their chances of developing breast cancer. For males, neutering helps prevent testicular cancer and can reduce aggressive or territorial behavior. These procedures contribute to a calmer, healthier pet who is less likely to roam or get into fights, which is especially important in Mesa’s busy neighborhoods and open desert surroundings.

Affordable, High-Quality Veterinary Care

We believe that every pet deserves the best care possible — and without putting financial stress on their owners. Our clinic was founded on the principle of offering low-cost services that never compromise quality or compassion. Every procedure is performed by trained veterinarians and skilled surgical staff using the same safety and anesthesia protocols you’d find in full-service animal hospitals.

From pre-surgical exams to post-operative monitoring, we make sure your pet is comfortable and cared for at every step. We also take time to explain everything in detail so you know exactly what to expect before, during, and after the procedure. Our goal is to make veterinary surgery both affordable and stress-free for you and your pet.

What to Expect When Scheduling Your Pet’s Surgery

Scheduling a spay or neuter appointment with us is simple and straightforward. Here’s what the process typically looks like:

  • Book an Appointment: Call our Mesa office or schedule online. Our friendly staff will help you choose a convenient time and review any pre-surgery requirements.
  • Pre-Operative Care: We’ll ask that your pet fasts before the procedure and provide clear instructions to help prepare them.
  • Surgery Day: When you arrive, we’ll review your pet’s health information and answer any last-minute questions. The surgery itself is quick and performed under general anesthesia for your pet’s comfort.
  • Recovery and Pick-Up: Most pets go home the same day. We’ll go over aftercare instructions, including how to monitor the incision site, manage activity levels, and keep your pet comfortable during recovery.
  • Follow-Up: Our staff is always available to answer questions after surgery. We care deeply about your pet’s healing and want to ensure they recover smoothly.

The Community Impact of Spaying and Neutering

Here in Mesa, where pet ownership is a big part of our community, spaying and neutering help prevent the challenges that come with pet overpopulation. Every year, countless homeless animals end up in shelters or on the streets, where they face uncertain futures. By choosing to spay or neuter your pet, you’re helping reduce the number of unwanted litters and supporting a more humane, healthy environment for all animals in the East Valley.

We’re proud to be part of a growing movement among responsible pet owners in Mesa who value both their pets and the community they live in. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.

Frequently Asked Questions About Spaying and Neutering

How old should my pet be for the procedure?
Most pets can be safely spayed or neutered between 4 to 6 months old, but our veterinarians will determine the best timing based on your pet’s breed, health, and size.

Is the surgery safe?
Yes. Our experienced veterinary team uses modern anesthesia and monitoring equipment to ensure every procedure is as safe and comfortable as possible.

Will my pet’s personality change?
Your pet’s playful and loving nature will stay the same! Spaying and neutering often reduce unwanted behaviors like marking, aggression, or roaming, making your pet more relaxed and easier to manage.

How long does recovery take?
Most pets bounce back quickly within a few days, but full healing usually takes 10 to 14 days. We’ll give you clear instructions for post-surgery care to help them recover safely.

Why should I choose a low-cost clinic?
At Low Cost Veterinary Surgery Clinic of Mesa, “low cost” means affordable, not low quality. Our services are designed to help pet owners access the care they need without cutting corners on safety or compassion.

Granted, I did not have a pet undergoing surgery, just vaccines and a nail trim. These people seem to be offering an affordable option to what has become a ridiculously outrageous service. People are putting down pets simply because they can’t afford to keep their beloved pets healthy. Several feral cats were brought in for sterilization while I was there. I feel these people deserve business. Thank you for truly caring for our pets and not seeing them as an early retirement. God bless!

The staff are so friendly. I have brought in TNR cats, they even loaned me traps. They are 100% the best clinic I have been to. If you do TNR, this is your place. If you have your own pet I would trust them with your pet. They are great, hands down. Thumbs Up!
